- Kalam served as the President of India from 2002 to 2007.
- Kalam missed an opportunity to become a fighter Pilot for the Indian Air Force.
- Kalam wrote a number of books including his autobiography"Wings Of Fire"which sheds light on his childhood,personal life and career.
- The house in which Kalam grew up in,which is located in the Mosque Street,Rameshwaram has been converted into a museum.
